People who are well seasoned in their creative practice all share something in common. They all trust their creative process.
Trust that inspiration will come.
Trust that after the tangly, messy part, the ideas will form.
Trust the characters and story will take shape.
Trust it will work out the way it’s meant to.
They’ve experienced it happen over and over again before, so they trust it will happen again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s doesn’t make the messy part easy, it makes it worth it. Even though they know they can’t control it, they trust it. This is the magic of creativity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rarely do we transfer that trust into our own life. I know I find this hard. When we feel uncertain, rarely do we expect magic.
But maybe we can cultivate our trust, even now, by staying open to the signs of hope. I find it restores my faith when I do.
