Cultivating trust during uncertainty

People who are well seasoned in their creative practice all share something in common. They all trust their creative process.

  • Trust that inspiration will come.

  • Trust that after the tangly, messy part, the ideas will form.

  • Trust the characters and story will take shape.

  • Trust it will work out the way it’s meant to.

They’ve experienced it happen over and over again before, so they trust it will happen again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s doesn’t make the messy part easy, it makes it worth it. Even though they know they can’t control it, they trust it. This is the magic of creativity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Rarely do we transfer that trust into our own life. I know I find this hard. When we feel uncertain, rarely do we expect magic.

But maybe we can cultivate our trust, even now, by staying open to the signs of hope. I find it restores my faith when I do.
