A journey back to creating - Marny’s story

At the start of 2020 I had the pleasure of working with Marny on a bespoke three month, one to one coaching programme. Below, Marny shares her journey.

Before working with Fiona I was pretty much stuck.  I was struggling to make even the first steps towards daily routines.  I had lost my sense of passion and reason for existence.  I knew in my heart that something needed to shift and that I was unable to do this alone.  I found myself saying to myself and others the phrase, ‘What is the point?’.

This stagnation was having a profound impact on my work and my personal life.  Work wise I had completely lost confidence as a creative and as a performer.  I had stopped writing, ideas weren’t coming and on the occasions I’d be invited to perform I would accept but then pull out on the day, sometimes due to panic attacks.  So I either spiralled further or re built my life starting from scratch.

After my sessions with Fiona things shifted hugely for me.  In fact they began to shift as soon as I started to work with her which was a life saver and that’s no exaggeration.

My confidence grew, I began to believe in myself again and my mission became clear again and most importantly the joy and excitement to be here on my mission burst back into life.  I began to laugh again and to get great pleasure out of everything.  I had remembered myself.  And not just that, which is huge, I had collected many tools and strategies to support myself with on a daily basis, especially tailored to suit me, by Fiona’s incredible guidance, encouragement and experience.

I have developed an unshakeable confidence that if I were to spiral out of control or to stray and drift away from meaning in my life again I would always be able to find my way back, taking simple, effective steps and sometimes by simply just accepting myself and my journey.  I’m so glad I had the will to take action and to work with Fiona when I did.  I have made so many fun and exciting things since then and really enjoyed the process.  I’m really proud of my progress so far and extremely grateful for Fiona.

Marny so generously references my support. One to one coaching really is a collaboration. A meeting of two people and their intentions at the right time. One person, who is ready and open to seek and accept support. The other, who is willing and able to give that support. Both are students, both are teachers.

I am so grateful to have shared a small part of Marny’s journey with her. I will forever find inspiration from Marny’s courage and capacity for joy. Thank you, Marny. All my love, Fi X
